Financial Aid and Scholarship Opportunities

Do you want to support The Montessori Institute to increase access to AMI Courses? If so, donate now! All proceeds go to TMI Scholarships and Financial Aid Opportunities.

School Sponsorship

There are a number of schools throughout the United States that are willing to sponsor Montessori teacher training in exchange for a commitment to teach at that school. If you are already working at a Montessori school, consider approaching your school about sponsorship. If you are looking to become a Montessori teacher, take a look at both the TMI Jobs Board and AMI’s Updated School Sponsorship List to find current opportunities to be sponsored.

Federal Financial Aid

If you are planning on combining your training with the Loyola Master’s Program, you may be eligible for Federal Financial aid (Stafford Loan). Current contact for Financial aid at Loyola is Danielle Ballantyne at dballantyne@loyola.edu.

Montessori Training Scholarships

The AMI Montessori Community supports two national training scholarships: The Margaret Elizabeth Stephenson Fund (MES) and the Black Montessori Education Fund (BMEF). These scholarship opportunities have very specific application timelines. You will want to apply as soon as you have been accepted to a training program.

-The BMEF is now accepting scholarship applications for 2024! Complete your application by 11:59 pm EST February 28, 2024. If you, or someone you know, has been looking for extra support to afford that Montessori program, look no further. We are accepting applications all throughout Black History Month for those who are interested in getting into Montessori education. Whether you are an adult learner, parent, administrator, or researcher — there is scholarship money available for you!

-The MES Fund is now accepting financial aid applications for AMI teacher training courses that begin in 2024. The application deadline is May 1, 2024. MES Fund scholarships are based on financial need and provide a tuition discount for trainees in their pursuit of an AMI diploma at the following levels: Assistants to Infancy, Primary, Elementary and now Adolescent.

The Judi Orion Living Legacy Scholarship

The Judi Orion Living Legacy scholarship is designed to increase access to 0-3 Assistants to Infancy training at The Montessori Institute. It is especially for students who identify as Black, Indigenous, People of Color and/or experience overlapping intersectionalities and who would not be able to attend training unless some of the additional costs / lost wage opportunities are supported. Recipients will receive a living stipend of $750 for the summer month required to be at training to offset the cost of childcare, missed wages and living expenses that can occur during in person training. This scholarship is open to all students including those who are being sponsored. Students must have applied to the 0-3 Assistants to Infancy training in order to be considered for this scholarship. Students who are awarded this scholarship must be accepted to the program and be an active student in academic good standing in order to receive this scholarship. Contact us at tmiami@mac.com if you would like to apply for this scholarship.

Applications are due by March 15, 2024 and awards will be granted soon after.
