Adventures

Denver, Colorado is a beautiful city with a close connection to nature and a vibrant social scene. The Colorado Rocky Mountains are just a short drive away where you can access hiking, mountain biking, lakes, fun mountain towns and week-end camping. In town, Denver has an abundance of parks, bike trails, paddle board lakes, great restaurants, museums, and plenty of delightful neighborhood coffee shops and micro breweries.

Housing

When it comes to housing for training, students tend to find short-term housing through sites like Airbnb, Trulia, VRBO or HomeAway. We also have several Denver Montessori community members who are happy to rent out rooms in their homes to students who have been accepted to the program.

We often have requests from applicants who have located some rental options and would like information on the neighborhood, distance from the training center, etc. and we are very happy to offer help in this way.  Our training center is a 10-15 minute walk from a light rail stop, so finding housing on a light rail line is often a good option. We also have a city bus stop outside our front door. Some students choose to bike to the center, as the weather generally permits it and Denver is relatively bike-friendly. Others have opted to use services like Uber or Lyft, and some opt to rent a car.

Once a student is accepted into the program, they can request to be added to the roommate list, which helps defray the cost of living and can help with transportation. We also lend a hand at the start of the course with trying to set up carpool opportunities for students who live close to one another.

Community

Our vision at TMI is to be an inclusive and accessible AMI Montessori training center. We strive to meet that vision by offering multiple community building and strengthening opportunities including anti-bias, anti-racism workshops during training, small group lessons on organization, album creation and time management, a materials making room with onsite experts, and mentorships. We also offer lots of opportunities for peer collaboration including Theory Discussion, Friday lunches at the park, birthday celebrations and our traditional weekly group dance!
